Whitney Houston and Dana Bash
Whitney Elizabeth Houston, born 9 August 1963 to a musically inclined family in Newark New Jersey is the daughter of Gospel star Cissy Houston as well as John Russell Houston Jr. They are also cousins of the singer Dionne Warwick. When she was a little girl, Houston began performing professionally in the church choir. Houston sang the backing vocals for Chaka Khosns 1978 single Im Every Woman with her mom. She then went on to perform backing vocals for Lou Rawls, Jermaine, as well as her mom. The vocals she sang with the band from New York Material attracted major record labels such as Arista. She signed with Arista in 1983, where she spent the remainder of her professional career. Whitney Houston's debut Whitney Houston album was released in the year 1985. It became one of the best-selling albums by an artist. The album All My Love was released in 1985, and quickly became a number one hit. The album came out in 1987 and sold 25 million copies across the globe. The Whitney album released in 1987 featuring the tracks The Bodyguard, I Wanna Dance With Somebody and Where Do Broken Hearts Get to, continued her success. But it is The Bodyguard of 1992 that turned her into one of the most successful performers in the history of music. Although the film and the actress' performance were not much praised, her soundtrack album that featured her interpretation of Dolly Parton's I Will Always Love You was her most popular album and single for a number of months. It sold over 44 million copies around the world. That same year she married the former New Edition singer Bobby Brown with whom she has a single child Bobbi Kristina Brown, born in March 1993. Her daily consumption of the drug was well-documented.
