Aaliyah Daniel Haughton made her way to stardom in 1994 with the release of her first album Age Ain't Nothing but an Numer. The album came out as Gold in the year she turned just 15 years old. The album was a collaboration that was highly in the style of R. Kelly and it placed her in the limelight. She collaborated in 1996 alongside Jermaine Dupri and Timbaland to release her second album One In A Million which included the top-rated hit song If Your Girl Could Only Know. Aaliyah gained international recognition as an R&B performer with the launch of her second album, One In A Million. She was a part of martial arts legend Jet Li in the 2000 romance-action film Romeo Must Die. Joel Silver spotted her in the awards ceremony. She was in 2002 when she appeared as involved in the Anne Rice-produced thriller Queen of the Damned. The Matrix Sequels saw her playing Zee, after appearing as a character in The Matrix Reloaded (2003) as well as The Matrix Revolutions that same year. She has a daughter, is a resident of Los Angeles and is pursuing her acting.
